My personal journey in recovery started in June of 2009. Since, I have work for several organizations in the addiction field, including Addiction Research and Treatment Services, (ARTS) of the University of Colorado, and the Center for Dependence Addiction and Rehabilitation (CeDAR) a division of UCHealth. Along with my private practice, I am currently am contracted with Lotus Lodge Sober Living as a recovery coach for the men’s program * with Western Skies Exteriors as a life to the employees.
From 2010 until 2014 I attended Metro State University seeking a degree in Mental Health Counseling. I am Certified Addiction Counselor level II (CACII). I am also a Nationally Certified Life Coach (NCLC).
My past includes being a decorated combat veteran, police officer, SWAT team commander, local high school security monitor and journeyman electrician. I have seen just about any thing a man could ever want to see and then some.I was asked one time what I had to offer a diverse population. My reply,”I’ve shaken the hand of a president and gotten high with a homeless man”…
In 2016 I started Silver Dollar Recovery because I knew there was a gap between treatment, the different fellowships such as AA, and long term recovery. People sometimes get lost along the way. In my practice I get to use my life and recovery experience to put light on a path of recovery and trudge with them on the road as they learn how to live life with the struggles of addiction. I’ve had the honor and privilege to work with people from all walks of life. From the homeless to professional athletes, CEO’s, doctors, veterans, lawyers, professional musicians, and stay at home partners. My practice is not just for the addicts and alcoholics, but for anyone affected by addiction.
I am a husband who is married to the same amazing, wonderful woman twice. Our divorce came when I was 5 years sober and we remarried in 2016. (Another story!) I have a 34 year old son who struggles with addiction, a 7 year old daughter, three cats and a mortgage. I love motorcycles, backpacking, Batman, and anything outside.
